  11. I recently upgraded from a USR 14,4 to the USR 33,6 internal modem.  The data 
  12. portion works fine with my SLIP  Internet connection and I generally get 26,6 
  13. most of the time.  The ROM date 10/13/95.
  14. I have contacted both Delrina (WINFAX Pro V4.0 for Windows) and USR Tech 
  15. support, but still haven't resolved the problem.  Was wondering if anyone else 
  16. with this modem and ROM date as experienced the same problem.  I'm running WfW 
  17. on a 386DX 40 with 8 Mb.
  18. The fax portion will not respond to auto answer, its window box states, 
  19. "Answering" , then "Setting Fax Modem" then drops carrier and dies.  I tried 
  20. to fax out something today and found out that didn't work either.  
  21. What is SO strange, is that I exchanged this modem 2 times already and the 
  22. problem is the same in all cases.  When I replace it with the 14,4 and change 
  23. the init string to USR 14,400 FAX/MODEM everything works fine.
  24. Could it be the ROM/firmware on this edition is screwed up!!!!!
  25. Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Have checked all the normal things 
  26. including windows  system.ini com setup etc.  Really is frustrating.
